Hand weaving

A couple of years ago, I stumbled upon an article describing hand weaving with pictures depicting gorgeous examples of hand made belts, bands and sashes. I was intrigued by how these bands could be made with very little equipment and had to give it a try. After exploring different techniques and styles, I really came to enjoy the Nordic style pick-up technique with its intricate and colorful patterns. I started using a small portable inklet loom and practiced by making bookmarks. I recently upgraded to a full size inkle loom that will allow me to make bands up to 4” large and more intricate patterns. I will post my new weavings as they become available!
